tarting on September 2nd, 2001, Jeremiah moved down to St. Peter, MN to start going to school at Gustavus Adolphus College. Whille attending school in St. Peter, Jermeiah continued to work for Century Bank twice a week, on the two days he did not have class.

he first several months went very smoothly, with Jeremiah adapting quickly to living without parental supervision. He had one advantage above most other students, he had shared a room with his brother for as long as he can remember, and he had a really cool, and of Age, roommate, Nick Droogsma. Then in November, Jeremiah started sliding and stopped attending one of his classes, Modern European Histroy, because he felt the class was boring, and not worth his time. At the time, he was very much un-aware that he could drop the class, and not have an F on his transcript.

ventually he snapped out of it, but not until Spring Term. For his Januray Term class he took a course on Digital Photography, which was mostly a Photoshop course. It was a lot of fun for Jeremiah, as he loved editing images, and making pictures which could not possibly be true. Around this time is when Jeremiah got his first Tattoo of Many, the Firebird emblem that Pontiac places on the hood of the Firebirds on his upper left arm.

round the same time Jeremiah got his Tattoo, it was announced that Century Bank, N.A., the bank that he worked for, was to be purchased (or rather Hostily taken over as Jeremiah put it) by Marshall and Illsley Bank of Miliuake. Due to this "Merger", the entire Operations department, of which Jeremiah was a part of, was to be liquidated. On a side note, Jeremiah was one of two people in the technology department. This was not a total loss though, due to the fact that he was able to take a position as Network Administrator at SPECTRUM Commercial services in Bloomington, MN. SPECTRUM used to be a subsidiary of Century's holding company which was spun off prior to the merger.

ver the summer Jeremiah worked full time for SPECTRUM as their network admin, eventually getting a title change to CIO...Jeremiah to this day finds this extremely humorous, while the title is acurate, he is the only person in the Information Technology department, so it makes logical sense he'd be the Chief Information Officer. Around the end of July, Jeremiah decided that since he was now an officer, and he had the means, it was time for him to get a summer car. He then purchased a black 1984 Pontiac Firebird convertible. The convertible was not made in 1984, so this vehicle was a custom. On closer inspection Jeremiah discovered that the car had been converted by American Sunroof Corporation as a Dealer option for a dealer in Tomah, Wisconsin. Pontiac Historical Society documentation showed that 25 1984 Firebirds where turned into Convertibles, and of those 25, two remain. Jeremiah's and another, which has been converted into a KITT replica.

fter completing a summer of work for SPECTRUM, Jeremiah returned to Gustavus. Jeremiah's Housing situation the following year was awful. Jeremiah was placed with someone he did not know, after the possibility of rooming with Dusty disappeared when Dusty decided not to go to school the following year. His roommate drank, and had social gatherings in the room. After about 2 months, his roommate was placed under review for pulling fire-alarms. Jeremiah's roommate had told him that he had pulled the alarm, and Jeremiah was called in to testify against his roommate. Needless to say, this was not a good situation. After the roommate was found not guilty, Jeremiah moved QUICKLY to his own room in Pittmann hall. Jeremiah enjoyed having his own room greatly, and was glad to be out of his previous situation. For J-Term, Jeremiah took the term off from class, and decided he would travel in Europe with his cousin. At the time his grandparents were living in southern France for a year, so Jeremiah and Sarah based from there. There are photos from his trip in the photo section. While Jeremiah was in Europe, his faithful red car received a fatal blow from a botched clutch drop, and the car ceased to function...After returning, Jeremiah started hanging out more with co-worker Karen Martinson. This was the first time Jeremiah had actually had an active social element in his life.

he following summer, Jeremiah worked full time at SPECTRUM, after unsuccesfully interviewing for a summer position in the IT division at Gustavus. For about a month of the summer, Jeremiah lived in St. Peter, Taking care of a Professor's house and cat. This was the first time Jeremiah had really gotten a chance to see what it would be like to live in an apartment.

hen the summer had finished, Jeremiah moved back on Campus. He moved back early in order to do sound work for new student orientation. His current roommate he picked on his own, and his name is Aaron VanJoske, or VanJ as he's commonly known. That year was a red-letter year for Jeremiah. He finally had a room mate that he got along with! That was really unusual for Miah.

t was a good year for Miah. He finally got the courage up to ask his longtime "crush" and best-friend Karen Martinson out, and she said yes! They have been dating ever since (And more than dating...But I'll get to that in a bit). The only real bummer that year was Miah's unfortunate accident. Jeremiah had a run in with a truck in rainy weather in his convertible. Unfortunatley, the front end of the convertible was smashed in, quite far toward the windshield. The windshield was also shattered and the frame bent a bit. Due to this, Jeremiah had to put his car back into storage, which is quite a bummer for him. Around this time because that was Jeremiah's only vehicle, he purchased a 1980 Dodge half ton pickup truck...Not your normal vehicle for Jeremiah. While it was fun with all of it's power, the truck was a loud, obnoxious, money-pit.

eing done with school for the year was quite a relief for Jeremiah. Also a relief was the fact that his Girlfriedn Karen had decided to attend grad-school (Seminary for a Master of Divinity) at Luther Seminary. The other two seminaries she had looked at were in Chicago and Decorah, Iowa. Jeremiah and Karen spent all of the summer together, seeing each other on a daily basis. This was great, and Jeremiah was able to tell that he wanted to spend his life with her, and on July 16th he asked her to marry him. She say yes again! So right now, Jeremiah and Karen are engaged to be married on August 6th, 2005. Towards the end of summer Jeremiah also successfully rid himself of that god awful truck, and bought himself a simple, plain, but reliable Pontiac 6000 to serve as his winter/rainy/"working on the 'bird" car.

ummer zipped by way to quickly for Miah, and he returned to school at Gustavus. He lived this year with his previous roommate VanJ and had a great room in Uhler hall. It was more of a suite than a dorm room, with a living room and a bed room. VanJ and Miah lucked out, and until Res Life decided to place another student in their room toward the end of the first semester, had a triple room to two people, which is very rare, and gives each student a lot of space. It was very nice to have Karen so close (Well, an hour away isn't too close, but it's closer than it could have been), and she tended to come down each weekend to spend time with Miah.

iah recently finished up his Fall semester and is looking foward to his J-Term class, where he will be taking a class on C++ programming. He also is looking forward to moving into his new room sometime in January (He is moving into a double room as a single, in one of the newest dorms on campus). At this point, Miah has around one year of school remaining, and will more than likely graduate in December of 2005.
